Orbit Campmajo Bosch

This tandem is a collaboration between us here at Orbit tandems, and Campmajo in Spain.

Campmajo have built us a stunning e-touring tandem frame, using a lightweight aluminium frame, each frame is a custom build and they offer a large range of tandem frames, including full suspension e-tandems, and also a range of non electric assist tandems.

The tandem uses the Bosch Performance Line CX 250W motor 100Nm and comes with a 800wh Powertube battery. Which is internally mounted.

Add a Powermore for £450 to give 1,050wh.

Adding a Powermore turns the single battery system into a twin battery system, there is also an option to have 2 x 800wh internally mounted batteries.

Range of course depends upon rider weight, wind, tyre selection & altitude gain, but it can be as much as 80 miles per charge.

The 250W motor is the highest output system that is road legal in the UK, giving up to 100Nm of torque. This motor can also be programmed upto 120Nm of torque, although in these very high power settings it uses a lot of battery.

This type of electric assist is called a mid-drive system, the engine runs through the gears, and correct use of the gears when climbing make the system really efficient, and allows a light weight motor to be used whilst still giving out a great amount of torque, which is needed for pedalling up the hills.

Built in North Yorkshire, and finished with top quality components including the new Bosch Smart system with a Kiox 400C controller mounted into the front top tube.
